If just coming to skate in Engelberg is not enough and you feel like hitting the slopes you can ski between 1’000 and 3’000 metres above sea level. Enjoy Swiss-style macaroni, cafés with schnaps and mind-blowing music to warm you up in your rest-breaks. 82 kilometres of runs and 24 transport installations offer perfect skiing enjoyment on blue, red and black slopes in the regions Titlis – Joch Pass and Brunni.

Benedictine Monastery
The Benedictine Monastery has made an important contribution to the development of Engelberg to the holiday resort that it is today. The monastery was founded in 1120 and continues to be run by Benedictine monks.

Monastery Church
Impressive and awe-inspiring in its beauty and size, the church is at present undergoing large-scale renovation work, which will be completed over the next 10 years.

Monastery Organ
The largest organ in Switzerland is to be found in Engelberg. With 137 stops, it is even one of the largest world-wide.

Monastery Library
Since the foundation of the monastery, the library has housed and looked after large stocks of old books . An important part of the librarians’ work is the preservation and collection of historical volumes.

Museum Engelberg
M any different aspects of the history and life of the high valley from the 11th century to the present day, are explained here, clearly and interestingly. The “Talmuseum” is housed in the heraldry building, built in 1786/7.

Cheese Factory
The spicy Engelberg cheese was exported abroad as early as the 16th century. At the newly fitted out cheese-making plant, you can watch cheese being made, and purchase the excellent dairy products on the spot.

Manor House (Herrenhaus)
This lovely building catches the eye as you approach Engelberg. The manor was built in the 17th century and has been completely renovation over the past few years. The rooms and halls are of considerable historical interest.
